Larry Wilmington, 59, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022, at his residence.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

Larry was born on May 7, 1963 in Water Valley, MS, the son of Johnny and Shirley (Brazelle) Wilmington Sr. He married Diane Reed on August 22, 1997 in Rock Island. Larry worked as a truck driver for EVO Transportation, and a construction worker as well. He was a very faithful man and was a minister at Victory Temple Church of God, Rock Island. Larry was also a member of Mt Olive Church of God and Christ, Davenport. He enjoyed cars and traveling. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and cooking big meals.

Larry is survived by his wife, Diane Reed Wilmington; children, Julius (Gwen) Reed, Dionna Reed, Latoya Wilmington, Latisha Wilmington, Markese Wilmington, and Chantal Wilmington; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, John Earl Wilmington Jr, Barbara (Bobby) Greer, Lisa Wilmington, and Patrick Wilmington; and niece, Takandra Wilmington. He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Alisha Wilmington; and nephew, Brandon Wilmington.
