Larry W. Wilson Sr, 82 of Viola, IL, passed away on July 8, 2026 at Generations Nursing Home, Rock Island.

The family will be having a service for him at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Homewood Evangelical Free Church, Moline, IL. Visitation is one hour prior to service. Memorials may be made to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home to help family with Funeral expenses.

Larry William Wilson Sr. was born December 16, 1943 in Antelope County Nebraska, the son of Ralph and Grace (Plumb) Wilson. He worked for around 30 years at John Deere as a machinist, retiring in 1994 where he was fondly known as Red.

He loved gardening and mowing the lawn with his John Deere tractor. He loved watching old time westerns and his favorite star was John Wayne. He loved going out for tacos at Rudy's in Rock Island. He was a lover of all animals and overall an awesome guy.

Larry was survived by his 3 children and a step daughter, Marion Entwistle of Viola,IL, Dan Wilson of Maricopa AZ, Larry Wilson Jr of Rock Island, IL, Elberta Fillman of Rock Island, IL; ex-wife, April Joseph; many grandkids; step grandkids; great-grandkids and step great-grandkids; sibling Beverly Rice; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Isabel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lola Wilson; ex-wife Belinda Wilson; stepson William Jones; siblings Katherine (Tom) Halsey, Eldon (Karon) Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
