Lavon K. Miller, 66, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Visitation will be held one-hour prior to the memorial service from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Lavon was born October 19, 1956, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Bailey J. and Beverly J. (Erbst) Ferkel. She graduated from Rockridge High School in 1974. Lavon married Forrest Lee "Bud" Miller Jr. on October 15, 1983, in Edgington, Illinois. She was a loving homemaker. Lavon was a member of the Milan American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and crafting. Above all, she loved her faithful companion, Kaylee girl.

Those left to cherish Lavon's memory include her husband of 40 years, Bud; dog, Kaylee girl; siblings, Jay Ferkel, Victor Ferkel, Bailey Joe Ferkel, Jeffery (Michelle) Ferkel, and William Ferkel; and she was known as Aunt Von to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Lavon was preceded in death by her parents and dog, Bandit.
