Lee Earnest Richardson, 79, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island, Illinois.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. A time of sharing will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Lee was born on August 23, 1946, in Guntown, Lee County, Mississippi, a son of Lonnie and Ella Mae (Young) Richardson. He graduated from high school and married Louise McDowell. Lee retired as the head of maintenance for the Rock Island Housing Authority. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to honor Lee’s memory include his wife of 55 years, Louise; children, Kenneth (Melissa) Richardson, Clarence Richardson, Anastasia Richardson, and Angelica Richardson; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, James (Paquita) Richardson, Willie Richardson, and Jackie Richardson.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Richardson; and siblings, Lester Richardson, Lonnie Richardson, Lawrence Richardson, LeRoy Richardson, Annie Clark, Tarlie McKinney, Charles Richardson, and Herbert Richardson.
