Lena Opal Behrend, 98, of Milan, passed away Saturday August 1, 2026 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00PM Saturday September 5, 2026 at Heritage Woods in the Family Room, 5500 46th Avenue Drive, Moline. Private inurnment will be in Preemption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family.

Lena was born on June 12, 1928 in Wayne County, Iowa, the daughter of Edgar and Clora (Bettis) Phillips. She married Leland A. Behrend on October 21, 1950 in Scott County, Iowa.

She had been employed at John Deere Harvester for 35 years last working in the Accounting Department.

Lena enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, traveling, crafting, reading, bingo, visiting the casino boats and playing cards with her friends at Heritage Woods.

She is survived by her daughter, Diana Lee Behrend and her granddogs, Seeva and Vinny of Milan, special friends, Dave and Karen Webster, Colona, Shae and Adam Fox; their children, Bradleigh and Baerett Fox, all of Colona, Tyler Webster, Moline; her God daughter, Kali Webster, Aniyas George, both of Moline, Diane Strom, Moline; numerous nieces and nephews and her many friends at Heritage Woods, Moline.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Clora; 3 brothers, George Edwin Phillips, Louis Phillips, Herman Phillips; sisters, Agatha Kalar, Viola Vance, Margaret Palmer and Vera Hefner.
