Lenora P. Lee, a cherished member of the Moline community, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by the comforts of her own home. Lenora's life was a testament to resilience, love, and a deep commitment to family and community. Born on July 20, 1935, in Silvis, Illinois, to Earl and Marie Cox. After the passing of her father, she was raised with love and strength by her stepfather, Fritz Giesler.
In her early adulthood, Lenora began her career as a seamstress at Seaford Clothing in Rock Island, a role that sparked her lifelong passion for crafting. On May 10, 1968, she married Lawrence Verlin Lee in Macomb, Illinois. Lenora's nurturing spirit extended beyond her own children; she embraced her extended family with open arms, which included her stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
A devoted member of New Life Fellowship Church in Moline, Lenora dedicated many years to her service as a secretary and other roles within the church community, reflecting her commitment to faith and service. She found joy in crafting and adventure, often traveling across the United States in a motor home with friends and creating lasting memories through camping.
She is survived by her children, Brenda (Duane) Moffitt and Cris Osberg; her step-children, Kay (Ron) Graham and Donald Lee; and her beloved grandchildren, Kevin Crowe (Virginia), Sherrie (Matt) Fowler, and Karen (James) Sanderson, as well as step-grandchildren Mark Beasley and Chuck Beasley. Lenora also leaves behind several great-grandchildren and a beloved cat, Fluffy. She shared a special bond with her long-time friend, Helen Chenoweth, who will miss their many adventures together. Lenora is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her granddaughter, Tessa Horton.
Visitation for Lenora will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Island. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the funeral home. Lenora will be laid to rest in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in care of her family.
As we reflect on Lenora's remarkable life, we celebrate her unwavering spirit, the love she shared, and the lives she touched in her 90 beautiful years. She will be deeply missed, yet her legacy will live on in all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
