Leo Eugene "Gene" Waddle, 69, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Generations - Rock Island.  Memorial Services will be held for Gene at a later date.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Gene was born on October 19, 1947 in Downing, Missouri, a son of Leo V. and Betty Dee Erwin Waddle.  He married Mary B. Jackson on May 14, 1991 in Davenport.  Mary passed away on March 5, 2002.  Gene worked for the City of Rock Island, Moline Fabri-Glass and Rock Island Display in past years.

Gene enjoyed fishing, tinkering and gambling.  He had a special appreciation for animals, especially for his dog, Demon.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dixie Lee Henschen and Tina (Charles III) Reynolds; his father, Leo V. Waddle; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Vanessa (Terry) Quinn and Ron (Melissa) Waddle; his dog, Demon and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary B. Waddle and his mother, Betty Dee Waddle.
