Leonard Boss, 83, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024, at his home.

A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:30 am at Rock Island National Cemetery where military honors will be performed. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Leonard was born on June 15, 1941, in Rock Island, the son of Carl Shelby and Ophelia Mae (Brandmeyer) Boss. He served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966. Leonard worked for Duffey Paper Company for many years. The loved watching sports of all kinds.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister Valerie (Harry) Stuart; brother, Dan Boss; nieces and nephews, Christine (Phil) Ressler and Brian (Kari) Stuart; goddaughter, Julie Remkus; family friends, Chris and Angie Naylor and Whit and Deb Sieben; and close friend, James Thornton.

He is preceded in death by his parents and longtime friend, Marilyn Sieben.
