Leonard F. Magier, 89, of Rock Island passed away Saturday June 16, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, those wishing to attend are to meet at 9:30 a.m.Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.

Leonard was born August 26, 1928 in Chicago, Ill., the son of John and Stella Wisniewski Magier. He married Vivian Minarsich Holmquist on October 7, 1994. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2017.

Leonard was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from A.T. & T. following many years of service.

He enjoyed playing dice and visiting the casinos.

Surviving are his stepson, Larry Holmquist, Unionville, Mo; step granddaughter, Melisa (Chris) Wagler, Rock Island; step great-grandson, Samuel Wagler; sister-in-law, Sheila Rae Goderis, East Moline; sister, Lottie Gicuis, of Schaumburg, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister, Adeline.
