Leslie A. Krueger-Soucinek, 66, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial is at the Reynolds Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established later.

Leslie A. McKelvey was born Dec. 5, 1947 in Monmouth, Ill., a daughter of William and Frances Barrington McKelvey. She married Carl Krueger in 1967 in Reynolds. She later married Joel Soucinek in 1986. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Leslie graduated from Rockridge High School in 1966 and attended Western Illinois University. She had worked as an intake specialist for Family Resources, Davenport.

She was a long-time active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bettendorf. Leslie enjoyed gardening, reading, volunteering and spending time with her grandchildren. She always put the happiness and the needs of others before her own.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Tim Steines, Milan; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Karen Krueger, Union, Ky.; grandchildren, Madison and Joshua Steines, Milan, Tyler Slach and Riley Krueger, both of Union; grandson of the heart, Zach Clemens, Davenport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and Ron Castor, Rock Island, and Rhonda and Jack Massey, Reynolds; sister-in-law, Kathy McKelvey, Mobile, Ala.; stepson, Kyler Soucinek, Bettendorf; stepdaughter, Kelli Soucinek Akers, Davenport; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel Soucinek; son, Joshua Krueger; and brother, Brent McKelvey.
