Lester Mark Lewis, 65, of Rock Island, IL- beloved son, brother, father, & dear friend was born in Glasgow, MO on August 16, 1959, to Lester Leon & Dora Lewis. He departed this earth on February 8, 2025, at his home. Lester was educated in the Rock Island- Milan school district, graduating in the class of 1977. Skilled in various fields, he proudly held positions throughout the Quad Cities, with one of his favorites at a local furniture store, where he gained his long affinity for crushed velvet furniture.

Although he has departed this earth in the physical sense, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts & minds of those who love him.

Known for his thoughtful nature, love of Cadillac cars, playing his saxophone, & drawing, Lester was a wise & loving friend to many. He enjoyed socializing, sharing his unique perspective on a wide variety of topics & offering a listening ear to those closest to him. Lester also valued his independence & spending  quality time alone. You could often find him listening to music at home, taking walks around the neighborhood, or feeding the local cats 'his furry babies'.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his children Twanna Whitehead, Lester Deon (Alexandria) Burrage, La'Toyia (Tony) Warrior, Markeysha Lewis, Braxton Sanders, and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Melanie, Marva & Marlon (Wanda) Lewis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones & longtime friends. Lester will be missed tremendously & will remain at the center of our hearts to be remembered forever.

Lester's Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2:00pm on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center in Rock Island, IL. Online condolences may be left for the family on Lester's tribute wall.
