Lewis "Louie" R. Rains, age 56, of Aledo, passed on Monday, September 21, 2026, at his home. 

Lewis was born on June 26, 1970, in Moline, Illinois, to Larry and Sharon (Reed) Rains. After graduating from Sherrard High School in 1988, he pursued further education at Northern University and St. Ambrose College, graduating with a MBA. 

For many years, Lewis dedicated his talents and expertise as a Program Analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal. His diverse career also included valuable positions at IBP, Black Hawk Foundry, Veriest Foundries as a Foundry Engineer, Burlington Case, and Service Rubber. His work ethic and skill garnered respect from colleagues and supervisors alike.

In his spare time, Lewis enjoyed spending quality moments with friends and family, riding his beloved Harley, and caring for his dogs. His zest for life and his ability to connect with those around him will always be remembered. 

Lewis is survived by his loving parents, Larry and Sharon Rains; his devoted siblings, April Iman and Loren (Misty) Rains; as well as his adored nephews, Eston Iman and Paul Iman Jr; and cherished nieces, Zoey Rains and Ansley Rains. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, who he held in high regard and who instilled in him the importance of family. 

A funeral service to honor Lewis’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Milan. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Lewis will be laid to rest at Cable Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Louie's name to the Mercer Pound or to the American Heart Association.
