Lillian Ballard, 93, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday January 26, 2023 at ProMedica, Moline.

Livestreamed funeral services will be 2:00pm Thursday February 2, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island and may be viewed online at https://vimeo.com/795393872 . Visitation will be from 1:00pm to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's.

Lillian was born on July 4, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Augustine and Mary (Pascatto) Rosa-Gastaldo. She was a graduate of Rock Island High School.

Lillian married Charles Hoskins on May 1, 1948. She later married Melvin Ballard on December 31, 1976.

Mrs. Ballard had been employed several years with Sexton Ford in the leasing department.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her flower gardens, decorating and shopping.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin; daughters, Kristine (Steve) Novak, Rock Island, Shelley Proudfit, Bettendorf, Jewell (Jerry) Joyce, York, Pennsylvania, Susan (Dennis) Hill, Davenport; brother, Tony (Judy) Rosa-Gastaldo, Rock Island; grandchildren, Todd (Lisa) Shurtz, Delaware, Ohio, Eric (Anne) Shurtz, Moline, Meagan (Alan) Sweet, Davenport, Jack Hill, Moline, Jessica Eager, York, Pennsylvania; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pam Hanssen; sister, Rita; and son in law, Rick Shurtz.
