Linda R. Ayala, 75, of Milan, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Linda was born January 29, 1949, in Rock Island, Illinois, a daughter of Edward Leslie and Verna Mae (Williamson) Hall. She graduated from Rockridge High School in 1967. Linda married Carlos Ayala on August 1, 1969, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island. She worked at John Deere Harvester for 30 years before retiring.

Linda had a passionate love for travel, the outdoors, and the simple joys of creating beauty with her hands. She enjoyed camping (rain or shine), boating, water skiing, and fishing. She was also a talented cross-stitcher. Later in life, Linda loved exploring new places with her husband. She traveled to Hawaii, Las Vegas, North Carolina, and lived in Italy for 3 years. Throughout her travels, she collected many memories and stories.

Those left to cherish Linda's memory include her husband of 55 years, Carlos; children, Rebecca (Justin) Bein, Carla (Brian) Schwertman, and Michael (Nikki) Ayala; grandchildren, AJ Green, Joshua Ayala, Ashley Ayala, Dustin Money, Levi Ayala, Kaitlyn Carter, Justin Long, and Austin Green; great-grandchildren, Ana, Nathan, Daxtin, Garrion, Kaia, and JoJo; brother, Robert Hall; and nieces, Tina, Jenny, and Missy.

Linda was preceded in death by parents.
