Linda C. Simonis, 64, of Milan, passed through the Gates of Heaven for the first time on Monday, May 25, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Linda will be 11 am, Friday at Trinity Bible Missionary Church, Milan. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8, pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Linda was born on October 19, 1950 in Houston, Texas, a daughter of Robert and Alberta Baldridge Hicks. She married Darrell K. Simonis on August 11, 1972 in Houston. Mrs. Simonis was a music teacher at Bible Missionary Institute, Rock Island.

Linda lived life to the fullest even through the difficult times. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she never had a sad song to sing. Linda never met a stranger, and she developed many close friendships over the years. Linda was a gifted pianist and organist, and her God-given talent of making music has touched lives at home and abroad. Many are the hands that play due to her faithful instruction and guidance.

Linda was a faithful member of Trinity Bible Missionary Church, Milan for 43 years.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell; children, Kimberly (Ryan) Gilbertson, Rock Island, Kelley (Scott) Kitlarz, Blue Grass, Derek (Jana) Simonis, Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Meagan, Mikayla, Micah, McKenzie, Isaac, Daniel, and Avery; parents, Robert and Alberta Hicks, Greenville, Texas; siblings, Glenda (Charles) Johnson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary (Mark) Mullins, Greenville, Texas, and Anna (Frank) Baldwin, Muncie, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
