Lindabelle "Linda" Smith, 80, of Rock Island, our mom and best friend passed peacefully at her home on January 11, 2018 in Rock Island.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to service time.  Private burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Linda was born on September 6, 1937 in Rock Island.  She married Stanley "Stan" Smith on February 22, 1956.  Together they raised three children, and Linda lived for her kids.

Over the years, Linda did many crafts.  There wasn't anything she couldn't do.  Including, recently swinging an axe to remove a stump in her yard.  Linda was a strong-willed woman, right up to the very end.  No one was going to tell her what to do.

Mom, thank you for loving us with all your heart, you are now with Dad and at peace.

Linda is survived by her sons, Richard and David Smith.  Her daughter, Brenda Neer and her husband Tom, who she treated like her own.
