Linda was born on February 12, 1950 in Rock Island, a daughter of Mason and Madeline (Hoffmann) Leonard. She married David O. Van Loon on June 23, 1990 in Park View, Iowa. Linda worked in production at Aramark for 21 years, retiring in 2008. She previously worked at Seaford Clothing Company for 15 years.

What things stand out about Linda?  Her bright, expressive eyes . . . that continuous, contagious smile of hers . . . a low muffled laugh here and there . . . an endless, deep, loyal, unconditional, devoted Love for her Husband, Family and the Farm.  And most of all, her gigantic, genuine, selfless Heart!

Linda preferred and enjoyed the simpler things of life.

Linda, and her husband Dave, had built a 1600 sq. ft. log cabin house on a 20 acre farm that has been in the family for generations.  They crop share 13 acres alternating between beans & corn.

Linda's side of the family always looked upon her to set up the annual family reunion party. And oh, what a party she put on!

During Linda's more relaxing moments, she loved the challenge of Sudoku and jigsaw puzzles.  She also found great joy in walking with her dog, and cutting 5 acres of grass on their farm.  Linda really enjoyed just leisurely walking around various Flea Markets and Arts & Crafts shows with her husband Dave.  And also, the countless trips made every year to "Happy Joes" and "Whitey's".

Country music was her favorite, especially Conway Twitty.  She loved to travel and made several trips to Nashville over the years.

Anyone who knew Linda, knew she was an avid Elvis fan and had quite an extensive Elvis collection of memorabilia.  Linda and Dave made her "Dream Trip" to Graceland come true many years ago.

However, everyone saw, what her "Biggest Love" was . . . taking care of Dave, the love of her life!  She did that even till the end, "I'm worried about Dave."

Linda will always be cherished, deeply & dearly missed, and remembered for her Endless, Steadfast Love!

Those left to cherish Linda's memory include her husband, David; step-son, David (Julie) Van Loon; step-grandson, Darick Van Loon; siblings, Bill (Eileen) Leonard, Moline, Thomas Leonard, Springfield, OH, David Leonard, Coyne Center, Michael (Linda) Leonard, Matherville, Betty Nerhus, Lost Nation, IA, Sandra Ulrich, Davenport, Pat (Tom) Hagloch, Aledo, and Robert Leonard, Matherville; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Gerald, Jim, and Richard Leonard.
