Lola “Peggy” L. Sedam, 97, of Andalusia, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be left in care of Andalusia Community Baptist Church.

Peggy was born on April 23, 1928 in Rock Island, IL. She was the daughter of Matt and Retta (Dusenberry) Garvey. She married Clyde “Blondie” Sedam on November 1, 1947 in Rock Island. They were married over 69 years prior to Clyde's passing on October 5, 2016. Clyde and Peggy raised their family in Andalusia. Peggy spent her early years waitressing at various establishments before going to work as a stocker at Eagles Warehouse for 17 years. Once Clyde retired they moved to the Sedam family farm in the New Boston bay area. They remained farming for over 20 years before moving back to Andalusia.

Peggy was a member of Andalusia Community Baptist Church. She enjoyed crafts, especially crocheting, needlework, and making dolls. 

Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory include her children, Brenda (Ted) Billingsley, Donald (Kathy) Sedam, and Bonnie Balmer; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Daryl Sedam; son-in-law, John Balmer; and brothers, Leroy and Leland Garvey.
