Lola Mae Wilson, 90, Viola, IL passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Generations Nursing Home in Rock Island, IL. A private family service will be held. Memorials may be made to the family.
Lola was born on May 15, 1934 to William and Lorraine (Womack) Parker in Birmingham, AL. Her family moved to the Quad Cities shortly after and she grew up and attended school in East Moline.
Lola was a homemaker raising her two children and also worked as a custodian. She did janitorial work for both residential and commercial properties until her retirement.
In 1985, Lola was united in marriage to Larry Wilson and the couple made their home in Viola.
She enjoyed crocheting and loved tending to the flowers and vegetables in her garden. She also liked cooking for her family.
Lola is survived by her husband, Larry, and their beloved dog, Isabel; daughter, Elberta Fillman; sister, Nancy Ryster; three grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Elbert Jones; siblings, Betty Anthony, Shirley Beaver, Phyllis Anthony, Kaye Hall, and Larry Parker.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.
