Loren D. "Butch" Hampton, 79, of Andalusia, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home battling cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Saturday, March 25, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Andalusia. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30pm Friday, March 24, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with the Recitation of the Rosary at 4:30pm. Inurnment will be at a later date in Charlotte Cemetery, Glen Haven, Wisconsin. Memorials may be made to Andalusia Township Library.

Butch was born August 14, 1943, to LaVern and Gertrude (Kirschbaum) Hampton in Glen Haven, Wisconsin. He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1961. Butch married Linda Vogt on July 11, 1964. He was employed at John Deere Plow Planter in Moline from December 1963 to May 1995.

In the summer, Butch could be found in his big garden planting or tilling. He was known for his delicious tomatoes and his sunshine dill pickles. Butch could also be found sitting in the shade visiting with whomever passed by. He always had time to talk and never met a stranger.

Butch was a charter member of the Illinois City Fur, Fin, and Feather Club.

Butch is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Laurie (Randy) Duncalf, Taylor Ridge, and Sheila (Don) Wales, Milan; grandchildren, Ory (Seajaye) Raisbeck, Cale Raisbeck (Adrian Trent), Cassie Wales (Tracy Hadley), Sarah Duncalf (Kevin Kouzmanoff), and Robert Duncalf; great-grandson, Kit Kouzmanoff; and brother, Eugene "Pete" (Marcia) Hampton.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brady Raisbeck; brothers, Walter, Norman "Jiggs" and LaVern "Junior"; and sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Hampton and Lois Dechow.

Butch's family would like to thank the UnityPoint Hospice staff, especially Julie for their care and all neighbors for their generous help during this difficult time.
