Lorena "Dot" Bledsoe, 91, of Milan, passed away July 6, 2014 at UnityPoint Health -Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Thursday July 10, 2014 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday July 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, following the service. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center or The Children's Therapy Center of the Quad Cities.

Lorena was born October 18, 1922 is Nicholsville, VA, the daughter of Charles T. and Rosa (Salyer) Turner. She married Ewing E. Bledsoe in Kingsport, TN. Lorena worked as a laborer at the Rock Island Arsenal before she retired.

Lorena will be remembered by her daughter Fran Short of Milan; her daughter-in-law Barb Bledsoe of Tuscon, AZ; her four grandchildren David (Lisa) Short of Rock Island, IL, Chris (Andrea) Short of John's Island, SC, Melanie (Jason) Quinn of Tuscon, AZ, and Tiffany Bledsoe of Tuscon, AZ; her seven great grandchildren: Brittney, Emily, Molly, Katie, Saylor, and Brooklyn Short and Shaila Christopher. She was preceded in death by her husband Ewing; her parents; and her son Jerry Bledsoe.
