Loretta Irene "Toodie" Smith, 88, of Rock Island, died Friday, September 11, 2015 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be an hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Loretta was born in Palmyra, Mo. on Sept. 25, 1926, a daughter of Elza and Lela Mae Stratton Williamson. She married Milton "Bill" Smith in Rock Island. He died in 2002.

Loretta and Bill owned and operated Toodie's Tavern and Peaches and Cream Bar in Rock Island from 1967 - 1999.

Loretta was a member and deacon of Memorial Christian Church in Rock Island. She enjoyed camping, boating and playing BINGO. She also loved her family.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Cindy) Nelson, Milan; grandchildren, Teri (Antonio McCarroll) Mayhugh, Rock Island, Todd (Karen) Danner, Rock Island, Michelle Chambers, Rock Island, Stacy Nelson, Milan and Corey Nelson, Moline; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Linda Nelson, grandson, Christopher Nelson, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
