Lori A. Foster - Mariner, 53, of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity, Rock Island.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:30 p.m.  on Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home  and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.  to service time at the funeral home.  Private inurnment will take place in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Lori was born on December 20, 1962 in Chicago Heights, IL, a daughter of the late Bruce and Adela Hafner Foster.  She married William G. Mariner on June 28, 1997 in Iowa City, he survives.  Lori was employed as a Social Worker at several women's health organizations in the Quad City Area.  She was a very compassionate person who loved helping those in need.

She was a member of Church of Peace, United Church of Christ in Rock Island and she greatly enjoyed gardening, singing and musical theater.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill of Rock Island; sister, Gail (Rick) Sederquist of Taylor Ridge; 2 nephews and several other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
