I would like to tell you a story about my wife, Louanne Chambers.

Lou was born August 3rd, 1938 and died August 10th, 2026. Her mom and dad were named Doris and Kenneth "Shorty" Richards. She had a brother Bob; eight years younger. Lou grew up in Hudson, Iowa. She learned horseback riding as a teenager and competed in barrel racing and Western Show Competitions for several years, and held several records.

When she was a senior in High School, she met Max Cory. They married and had four children, Jeff, Greg, Michael and Kristi.

They were divorced when their children were grown, but still remained friends.

She then married Roger Dahlgaard in 1993 and he later passed in 2006.

Her daughter helped her meet Dave Chambers in 2010. They were both looking for friendship, but found love instead and were married on the beach in Key West, Florida in 2010. They traveled, spent winters in Florida, and shared their love with two Weimeraners, Phoebe and Abby.

Lou was diagnosed with ALS in 2023.

She died holding Dave's hand.

Per Lou's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are to be held. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family. Condolences may be left for the family by signing Lou's guestbook.
