Obituary

Louise Pearson , 86, of Rock Island, Ill., passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020 at home.

Live-streamed services (wheelanpressly.com/live-stream-rock island) will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Those attending are required to wear masks in the funeral home and observe social distancing.

Louise was born August 28, 1934 in Gates, Tenn., one of thirteen children born to Tommie and Elise (Lucas) Thompson. She was married for many years to J.C. Pearson.

She worked for Fresh Pak Candy Co. for twenty years and for Brach's Candy for seven years.

Louise loved going to church and listening to gospel music, especially when Lee Williams was singing. She was a wonderful cook, avid card player and bingo player.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Betty Atwater, Rock Island; grandson, David (Ethel) Atwater, Davenport; great grandchildren, Devan, Daliya, Alliveir, Armani and Tatianna Atwater, Ashley McKnight and Michael Turner; sister, Ella Mae Neely, Rock Island; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.

Mrs. Pearson was preceded in death by her mother; father; son, Jessie Pearson; grandson, Nicholas Atwater and eleven brothers and sisters.
