Louise Fisher Schoede, 95, a long time resident of Rock Island, died in her home in Palm Desert, Calif., on December 4, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday (Apr. 17) at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation is a hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment is at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Bethany For Children and Families.

Louise was born May 14, 1919 in Davenport, and was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. David Fisher of Davenport in 1922. She was married to the late Edward C. Schoede of Rock Island, where they raised their three children and resided for more than 60 years.

Louise was an avid golfer and was the Rock Island Arsenal Club champion in 1939. She loved the game and continued playing until late in life. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed working in both painting and sculpture mediums. After her husband's passing she lived out her remaining years in Palm Desert enjoying the warm weather and playing golf year round.

She is survived by her children, David Schoede, Palm Desert, Calif., Barbara Wong, San Francisco, Calif., and Michael Schoede, Denver, Colo.; and three granddaughters.
