Louise M. Sittig, 87, of Rock Island, died Sunday, October 30, 2016 at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.  Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 21st Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.  Burial will be private at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Louise was born August 28, 1929 in Milan, a daughter of Arthur H. and Ethel S. Hodgson VanMechelen.  She married Herbert F. Sittig on December 26, 1964 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.  He preceded her in death on March 23, 2006.

Louise retired in 1991 from Royal Neighbors of America Life Insurance Company as Manager of the Death Claims Department.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Walter and Arthur "Sonny" Jr. and sisters Eleanor Anderson and Doris Lindley.
