Obituary

Lucile E. Rogers, 91, of Milan, formerly of Rock Island, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Lucile was born in Sigourney, Iowa on March 16, 1923, a daughter of Charles H. and Carrie E. Thompson Elliott. She married Lee Henry Rogers on September 14, 1941 in Lancaster, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1981.

Lucile worked for Servus Rubber in Rock Island for about forty years retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, D.A.R., R.I. County Historical Society and SHASTA Go Camping Club. She enjoyed crocheting and genealogy.

Survivors include her son, Michael L. (Robbie) Rogers, Milan; grandchildren, DJ (Kris) Griego, Dave (Amie) Rogers and Chris (Jamie) Rogers; great-grandchildren, Jason and Ethaniel Griego, Gabe and Sarah Rogers, Kyra Findley and Killian Boone; and brothers, James (Laurel) Elliott, Cedar Falls, Iowa and Marion (Frances) Elliott, Montezuma, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Sheryl E. Rogers, sisters, Bernice Martin, Martha Green, Dortha Dewberry and Margery VanPatten and brothers, Charles and David Elliott.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Hope Creek Care Center for all of the superior care extended to Lucile during her time there.
