Lucille "Lucy" A. Beeding, 79, of Rock Island, passed from this world into heaven, after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's  lymphoma on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services are 10 am on Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Burial is at the Andalusia Cemetery.  Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Pastor Kuriscak's Sunday school class at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island, or given to the family.

Lucy was born May 19, 1937 in Moline, the first child of Rodney B. and Edna Ferkel Heinze.  She married George L. Beeding Jr., on Aug. 21, 1960 at First Baptist Church, Rock Island.

For many years she was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her two children as they grew up.  On Sept. 9, 1987, she took the position as store pianist at Von Maur at South Park Mall.  She  had many wonderful memories of her nearly 29 years of entertaining shoppers.

Lucy also served others through her music, serving as a soloist for church, community events, weddings and funerals.  It seemed appropriate for her to sing for her own funeral, so she will.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, George; daughter, Julie Terry, Rock Island; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Carol Beeding, Aledo; grandchildren, Shaelyn Terry and Wyatt Beeding; sister, Eleanor Findlay, Arlington Heights, Ill.; and brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Heinze, Milan.

Lucy wanted to express a special thank you to her loving and caring daughter for her help, as well as to Dr. Garneau, his staff and the wonderful oncology and T.C.U. staff at Trinity Rock Island.
