Lucille G. Ashpaugh, 86, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday December 27, 2018 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 4, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or First Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Lucille was born July 17, 1932 in Gilchrist, Illinois, a daughter of William and Angeline Myles Russell. She married Arthur G. Ashpaugh on April 30, 1949 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2013.

She was a homemaker, and will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Lucille was a member of First Lutheran Church, Rock Island. She enjoyed crafts, going to Circa 21, country music and visiting Branson, MO.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur G. Ashpaugh, Jr., and his wife, Elsie, Milan and David R. Ashpaugh, and his wife Geraldine, Rock Island; grandchildren, Stacey Ashpaugh-Flores, Chad Ashpaugh, Michael (Dawn) Ashpaugh, Thomas "T.J." Ashpaugh, Cody Ashpaugh and David (Michelle) Ashpaugh II; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Kendal, Dominik, Tabitha, Jayden, Daxon and Declan; brother, Wilbur Russell, California; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Virginia McCaw, Louise Martin, Margaret Newton, Alberta Taylor and Marsha Markin; and brothers, Roy Russell, William Russell, Melvin Russell and Delbert Russell.

Lucille's family wishes to especially thank the nurses and staff of Avonlea Cottage and Hospice Compassus for their kindness and care.
