Cindy Hugart, 81, of East Moline, died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Cindy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was born to Leon and Doris (Johnson) Carroll in Torrington, Wyoming on April 22, 1943. She grew up in Maricopa, California, moved to Moline and graduated from Alleman High School in 1961. She completed costemology school and worked at several salons and beauty shops before becoming the owner of Galejeans in Moline. Cindy married her high school sweetheart Gary Hugart on May 3, 2003.
Cindy had many hobbies. She enjoyed tap dancing, participating in social clubs, traveling and was known to be very creative. One of her most treasured pasttimes was playing Bridge with her friends from high school. Cindy was a great cook and enjoyed making delicious meals for loved ones. One of her favorite things was to celebrate everyone's milestones, whether it was birthdays, graduations, weddings or holidays. And every event was promised to be full of music, love and laughter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her caring husband, Gary; sister Francie Jahner; children Stacy (Roy) Galloway, Mitch Ehrecke, Kristine (Tim) Klauer, Sunny (Ryan) Winter; grandchildren Jessica (Brandon), Lindsey, Luke, Megan (Ian), Makayla, Britanie, Andrew (Jess), Jacob (Hazel) and Vince (Jess); nine great-grandchildren; seven half-siblings; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mom and dad, her brother Robert Carroll, her son David Ehrecke, her grandson Christopher Ehrecke, and her brother-in-law Dennis Jahner.
Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. On Wednesday, December 18, 2024 there will be a visitation from 4-6 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of St. Judes.
