Luella M. Lipe, 87, of Milan, passed away Monday February 8, 2016 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Luella was born August 10, 1928 in Ottumwa, Iowa, a daughter of Verril and Angelena (Dailey) Mountain. She was formerly married to Boyd E. Lipe, Sr., for a time.
Prior to her retirement, she was a bookkeeper and supervisor for several area companies.
Luella most enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making afghans, and was an avid reader.
Surviving are her children (and spouses), Boyd "Bud" (Judy) Lipe, Jr., Branson, MO, and Leonard (Elizabeth) Lipe, Andalusia, Dennis (Cathleen) Corwin, Rock Island, and David Corwin, Rock Island; grandchildren, Allan French, Clarksville, TN, Angie Lipe-Pattengill, Corpus Christi, TX, Andrew Lipe, Rock Island, Jessica Lipe, Andalusia, Logan Lipe, USN, Japan, and Dustin, Donald, and Tim Corwin ; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine (Ben) Thomas, Peachtree City, GA, and Linda (Tom) Wheatley, Rock Island; niece and best friend, Dora Corwin, Milan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; companion of 35 years, Donald Corwin; daughter, Trudy Lundholm; brothers, Leonard, Walter and LaVon Mountain; and her sister, Caroline "Lucy" Stoneking.
