Lyle was born on March 15, 1936, in Maquoketa, Iowa, a son of Louie and Laura (Miller) Behne. On June 20, 1959, he married the love of his life, Donna Lee Wilson, beginning a partnership that spanned decades.

Lyle dedicated 50 years of his life to his career as a truck driver, retiring from Standard Forwarding. He was a proud member of Reynolds United Methodist Church, the QC InFisherman Club, and Teamsters Local 371.

Lyle was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all, Lyle cherished the time spent with his family and took great joy in attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. Lyle was known for his warm, welcoming spirit and truly never met a stranger.
