Lynde L. Johnston , 57, of Buffalo Prairie, IL, passed away Monday November 22, 2021 at her home.

A memorial gathering and celebration of Lynde's life will be 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, November 26 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, IL. Inurnment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UnityPoint Trinity Cancer Center.

Lynde was born April 25, 1964 in Muscatine, Iowa, a daughter of Donald S. and Marilyn Walker Kiddoo. She married John L. Johnston on August 27, 1982 in Edgington, IL.

She was a loving wife, mother and sister, as a military wife she and John lived in several areas of the country where she also worked various jobs.  One of her favorite was most recently as a cook at the Rockridge schools.

Lynde will be lovingly remembered for her bubbly personality and infectious smile. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens at home.

Surviving are her husband, John, Buffalo Prairie; son and daughter-in-law, Kayden James and Jessica Johnston, Rock Island; grand puppy, "Luna"; brothers, Dick (Sheila) Kiddoo, Andalusia, IL, Dan (Linda) Kiddoo, Taylor Ridge, IL, Tom Kiddoo, Edgington, IL, Debbie (Randy) Reuther, Illinois City, IL; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Margaret (Allen) Wilson, Kansas, Carol Muilenburg, Milan, Barbara Buhle, Bluegrass, IA, and Ann (David) Rosales, Colorado; brothers-in-law, Joe (Dina) Johnston, Andalusia and Gary Willits, Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenny and Marcella Nelson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Willits; and brothers-in-law, George Johnston and Dean Buhle.
