Madeline D. Blancke, 89, of Rock Island, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at The Fort Armstrong Assisted Living, Rock Island. Services will be 10 AM Thursday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Madeline was born in Davenport on October 16, 1924, a daughter of Rudolf and Lillian Moses Best. She married Charles Blancke on July 8, 1950 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1994

Madeline worked for 25 years at A D Huesing Corporation. She was a member at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. She enjoyed socializing with friends and watching soap operas.

Survivors include; her daughter, Tracy (Jeff) Wilson, Sherrard, Ill.; grandchildren, Abby (Danny) Charfauros, Rock Island and Kelsey, Bryar and Payton Wilson, all of Sherrard; great-grandchildren, Ashton and Persephenie Charfauros, both of Rock Island; and a sister, Lois Peck, Albany, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a daughter, Christina Blancke.
