Magnolia Hines, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday June 18, 2015 at Aspen Nursing and Rehab, Silvis.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Journey A.M.E. Church, Moline. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Magnolia was born June 22, 1930 in Louisville, Miss., a daughter of George and Remonia (Harris) Harper. She married Frank Hines, Jr. on May 8, 1967 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1976.
Magnolia was a homemaker and had worked at Sanitary Cleaners in Rock Island in earlier years.
She loved spending time with family and friends, going to church, listening to music and dancing.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her sisters, Martha Hannah, Rock Island, Lois (Eugene) Prince, Las Vegas, Nev., Mary (Alvin) Goss, Louisville, Miss. and Linda Paramore, Los Angeles, Calif; her brother, Walter Harper, Chicago, Ill., and a host of nieces, nephews, and families.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Genette Harper Miller and Nannie Harper, and three brothers, Howard, Lincoln, and George Harper.
