Marcella L. DeJonghe, 91, of Milan, died Monday, April 26, 2021 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.  A graveside service will be 11:30 am Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Visitation will be from 10 – 11 am Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan.  Memorials may be made in care of the Milan American Legion Post 569.

Marcella was born on May 26, 1929 in Rock Island, Illinois, a daughter of John and Pearl Downey Johnson.  She married George DeJonghe on November 15, 1947 in Rock Island.  He preceded her in death in 2012.

Marcella was a homemaker and enjoyed reading.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers whom met once a month.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Steven (Rebecca) DeJonghe and Pamela (Larry) Skelton, both of Milan; grandchildren, Brittney Belha, Jared Skelton, Andrea DeJonghe and Jeffrey Skelton; and great-grandchildren, Jacob and Alex Belha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Robert "Eddie" Johnson and one infant brother.
