Obituary

Marcus W. Jackson, Sr., 46, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.  Funeral services for Marcus will be held 12 Noon  Monday, August 14, 2017 at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Marcus was born on October 19, 1970 in Rock Island to Jesse L. Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson.  He served his country in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm and was valedictorian of his class at Kaplan University in 2012.  In the military, he had worked as a Communication Specialist.  Recently, he had been working in construction.  Marcus was a gifted artist and musician.  He operated his own recording studio, Delta Lab, as well.  He was proud a  Mason and he also had a special interest in physical fitness and bodybuilding, winning several competitions.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elizabeth; children, DeMarko Holt, BriAnna Watson, Marcus Jackson, Jr., Miltasia Owens, Jaelynn Jackson, Mekovanna Reed and MarCeisha Jackson; 7 grandchildren and sisters, Trudy E. Williams, Darlene D. Crimm, Jessica L. Jackson, LeDiamonisha Jackson and Rosemary Richardson, Vickie Wilkersham; brothers, Roylee Richardson, David Richardson, Jordan Humphrey  and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Charles Lee McCauley
