(Luce) Owens
September 16, 1937 – July 29, 2025
Margaret A. Owens, 87, of Milan, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2025. Her life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rock Island. Prior to the Mass, family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects during visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Following the Mass, cremation rites will be conducted, with inurnment to take place privately at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to be made in Margaret's memory to the QC Animal Welfare Center or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, reflecting her compassion for both animals and children. Born on September 16, 1937, in Parnell, Iowa, Margaret was the cherished daughter of Vincent and Margaret Kelly Luce. She united in marriage with Larry Owens in Rock Island, Illinois, in 1979, who preceded her in death on September 26, 2016. Margaret's professional journey included her time at Eagle Warehouse in Milan, which she continued until its closing. She then embraced various roles before delighting in her primary vocation as a devoted homemaker. Margaret was a proud member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and previously the Rock Island Moose Lodge. In her younger years, Margaret enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling and later embraced the joy of water aerobics. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan! Margaret leaves behind a loving legacy through her daughters, Kimberly Frank of Davenport, Iowa, Linda (Chris) Damewood of Athens, Tennessee, and Patricia (Van) Willows of Davenport, Iowa. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Nicholas, Stephanie, Anthony, Jonathan, Kyle, and Travis, as well as her ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her dear siblings, Bonnie Schwab and James Richardson. Margaret will be reunited with her late son, Michael Sisco, as well as her sisters, Mary Doran and Francis Grant, and her brothers, Jack Luce and Robert Richardson. We invite all who knew and loved Margaret to join us in celebrating her life and legacy.
