Margaret E. Luther, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at her home. Services for Mrs. Luther will be 11 am, Wednesday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Margaret was born on September 30, 1923 in Centerville, Iowa, a daughter of James Faye Seals and Ella L. Bland Seals. She married Weldon "Red" Luther on October 5, 1937 in Unionville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2002. Margaret and her husband, Red owned and operated Cramer's Tavern in Rock Island for many years. She then went to work for the Rock Island-Milan School System before her retirement. Margaret was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island and the Rock Island VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards and doing crafts.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Kay) Luther, Amana, Iowa, Kathy (James) Dean, Rock Island; a daughter in law, Mary Jo Werner, Rock Island; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte Lodestein, Bettendorf and Sharon Muncie, Pace, Florida.
