Margaret A. Ohrstrom, 81, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully Friday July 10, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:30-7:00pm Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a wake service at 4:00pm. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, St. Vincent de Paul or St. Pius Catholic Church.
Margaret was born on October 21, 1933 in Spring Grove, MN, the daughter of Walter and Mary Mahr. She was a graduate of the former Villa de Chantel in 1951. On June 13, 1953 she married Raymond "Ole" Ohrstrom in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2003.
Mrs. Ohrstrom had been employed at Modern Woodman of America.
Margaret was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and their Bible Study Group and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed raising plants and fishing.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Gilroy, Rock Island, Michele(Daniel) Kuberski, Lakewwod, CO.; sons, Gary (Diane) Ohrstrom, Rock Island, Lawrence (Lisa) Ohrstrom, Valparaiso, IN, Carl (Sherie) Ohrstrom; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers, Eugene Mahr and Wally Mahr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lou Mae Ryan, Madelyn Schwartzhoof, Genevieve Herbert; brothers, Reginald Mahr, Joseph Mahr and Ray Mahr.
