Margie D. Nicholson Bragg, 85, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday February 8, 2024 at her home.

Funeral services will be 2:30pm Wednesday February 14, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.

Margie was born on February 24, 1938 in Louisville, Mississippi, the daughter of Minnie Nicholson and John Hill. She attended Louisville Schools. Margie worked for many years at MaryCrest College and St. Anthony's Hospital.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Louisville, after relocating to the Quad Cities she joined Pentecostal Church of God in Davenport, under the leadership of Pastor MacArthur Anderson.

Margie married Willie Frank Bragg and to this union they had eight children, she later united with  Henry Smith and to this union was two children. She loved playing cards, she enjoyed life and would make you laugh at the things she would say, she loved to provide childcare for all children and was immaculate in her housekeeping skills. Margie was known for her loving smile and decorating; she loved all people even those that were not her own.

Leaving to cherish her memory is four sons, Nickie, Antonio, Damien and Tremere Bragg; four daughters, Retina, Dorinda, Roshonda and Celine Bragg; her four step daughters, Loredia Dixon, Tammy Davis, Pamela Bragg and Latressa Jones; daughter in law, Silvia Bragg and Marty Bragg ; sister Minnie Babers; special friends, Ora Mae Liddell and Bertha Parks; special niece, Elizabeth Sanders; 21 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Delphine Bragg; step daughter Lawanda Porter; son, Willie Bragg Jr. (Hollywood); a grandson, Regal Bragg; sisters, Nancy, Almay, Olla B; brothers, Alan, James, Nick and John Allen.
