Obituary

Margo A. Curry, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Silver Cross - Friendship Manor, Rock Island.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in care of the Midwest Writing Center - Tim Curry Endowment for Youth Writing.

Margo was born on October 22, 1925 in Rock Island, a daughter of Herman L. and Margaret (Tindall) Liekefett.  She was born and raised on the family farm, Highland Springs, which is now the site of Highland Springs Golf Course.  Margo attended school in a one room schoolhouse until 8th grade.  She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1943.  Margo married Floyd E. Curry on July 6, 1952 in Rock Island.  Floyd passed away on September 10, 1998.  In addition to being a homemaker for her husband and sons; Margo worked for a number of years at State Loan Agency and Mason and Ellis.

Margo was a member of the Twentieth Century Women's Club, Pinnacle Country Club and a former member of the Kings Daughters.  In her retirement years, Margo enjoyed working at the Mark box office, selling tickets for events.  She greatly enjoyed playing cards, golf and bowling.

Left to cherish her memory are:  her son, Dan (Susan) Curry, Arizona; daughter in law, Ellen Curry, Davenport; grandchildren, Nick (Ruth) Curry , Emily (Shane) Liss, and Sam Curry; great granddaughter, Evelyn; brothers in law and sisters in law, Dick (Barbara) Curry, Moline and Roger (Connie) Curry, Port Byron and many other loving family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; son, Tim; her parents, Herman and Margaret and her sister, Bessie Lundgren
