Margo Olson, 90, of Moline, Illinois, a self-described "country girl" at heart, passed away on October 17, 2026.

Margo’s "country" life began in Milan, Illinois, alongside her sister, Janet, and her parents, George and Irene Clark. Growing up on their gentlemen’s farm, she enjoyed a childhood surrounded by hogs, chickens, crops, and a favorite cow named Bessie. She attended a one-room schoolhouse for her grade school years, learning alongside the distant cousins who had originally settled the township. After graduating from Sherrard High School, Margo began working for the Royal Neighbors of America.

Family and nature were the centers of Margo's world. She met the love of her life, Joseph "Joe" Olson, through one of her uncles. Following her father's passing, Margo and Joe purchased a small parcel of land from her mother, Irene, to build their family home. Margo lived in that cherished location for nearly her entire life, before moving for her final fifteen years. She spent much of her time outdoors, finding true joy in gardening, walking in the woods, and hunting for morel mushrooms. Indoors, her home was often filled with the warm aroma of fresh baking.

Over the years, Margo spent time as a homemaker and held various positions in warehouse and retail operations. However, she abandoned those roles with absolute glee to step into her favorite title: caregiver to her grandchildren. In her final year, Margo reflected that her greatest accomplishment in life was her beautiful family.

Margo is survived by her three children, Susan (Scott) Anderson, Scott Olson, and Jennifer (Bob) Sierens; and her four precious grandchildren, Myah Sierens, Blake Sierens, Maddie Olson, and Samantha Olson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Olson; her parents, George and Irene Clark; her sister, Janet Smead; and numerous aunts, uncles, and a nephew.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00am Thursday October 29, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.
