Marguerite Inez Brooks, 96, of Milan passed away on April 26, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with a visitation to be held from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery.

Marguerite was born on February 1, 1928, in Charleston, SC, a daughter of Ernest and Marguerite Breuer. She married Eugene L. Brooks on December 28, 1945 in Charleston, SC, while his Navy destroyer, the USS McKee, was being decommissioned after World War II.

Marguerite was known as the "Baking Queen" by her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her garden and crocheting. Marguerite retired from Eagle Warehouse in Milan.

Those left to cherish Marguerite's memory include her children; Nancy Beam, Moline, Elaine Najera, El Cajon, California and Christopher (Denese) Brooks, Milan; grandchildren, Robert, Kimberly, Stuart, Amanda, Tamara, Anthony, Todd, Angela, Michelle, Brian, Matthew; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
