Marian H. Teufel, 93 of Milan, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017.  Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.  There will be a memorial visitation from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Memorials may be made in care of Q.C. Paws, Moline.

Marian was born in London, England on September 22, 1923, a daughter of Harold and Edith Titcomb Baker.  She married Arthur L. Teufel on January 3, 1945 in England.  He preceded her in death on January 28, 1992.

Marian was proud to have served as a volunteer firefighter in England during WWII.  She moved to the United States in 1946 and worked as a telephone operator with the United States Post Office for 6 years.

Marian loved music, sewing and needlepoint, however, her passion was flower gardening and her dogs.

Survivors include her daughter, Alison Zampogna; grandchildren, Fran (Eric) Gebhardt, Valeria (Jim) Paulsgrove, Daniel (Kim) Zampogna and Brittany (Rob) Huffman; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; twin sister, Dorothy Gait, Wales; and four nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Dorothy Rico and son, Harold Teufel.
