Obituary

Marillyn Rosalie Wilson, 100, of Milan, passed peacefully at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, October 31, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Marillyn was born on September 30, 1922, just recently celebrating her 100th birthday with her family.  She was a graduate of Moline High School class of 1940.  After high school she enlisted in the WAVES serving 18 months stationed in Washington D.C.  On July 20, 1946, Marillyn Wright was married to Gerald (Gay) Wilson, they were happily married 58 years until his passing on May 10, 2004.  Marillyn was a secretary for several companies, she retired as a secretary from the Q.C. Electrical Contractors Association.

Marillyn's greatest pleasure was spending time with family and watching her Chicago Cubs play.  She was a Pythian Sister, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Milan.

She is survived by her son Timothy (Theresa) Wilson; daughters, Lucinda (Robert) Willhite and Jerilyn (Ron) Johnson; grandchildren, Tyler (Haley) Willhite, Grady Johnson, and Tessa (Alex) Karwath; step-granddaughter, Emerald Johnson; great grandchildren, Tarique Newman and Naseem Newman; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Cecil and Cora Wright; sisters, Alyce Epperson and Marlene Souder; and step-granddaughter, Crystal Newman.
