Marilyn M. Nowack, 89, of Milan, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Silver Cross, Rock Island.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with recitation of the rosary at 3:30 pm.  Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan or to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Marilyn was born on January 20, 1933 in Rock Island, the daughter of Theophiel and Marie (DeSmet) Hancq.  She married Richard Nowack on June 2, 1951 at St. Mary's, Rock Island.  Marilyn retired from Service Rubber in Rock Island, as a trainer.  She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.  Marilyn was an excellent cook.  She was a dedicated worker, and always had to be on the go.  Marilyn cherished her time spent with family, and was always looking forward to setting up the next family gathering.  She could be found most days at her grandchildren's sporting events.  Marilyn and her family would go to "Camp" most summers, which was their cabin in New Boston.  She also loved to frequent McCabe's Department Store with her daughters.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Deborah Olson, Wendy (Mitchell) Fiedler, and Tara (Stephen) Lucas; grandchildren, Seth (Lyndsey) Olson, Abby (Bryce) Thomsen, Chase (Dona) Fiedler, Nolan and Blaine Lucas; great grandchildren, Malin, Keatyn, Eisley, Ayla, Braxton, Maddox, and Kinsley; and special friend of the family, Courtney Whitsell.  She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Stuart Olson; and siblings, Edward and Evelyn Hancq.
