Marilyn E. Lyon, 80, of Taylor Ridge, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 11 am at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery will meet at the funeral home at 10 am. Memorials may be made to the family.

Marilyn was born October 9, 1942, in Hannibal, Missouri, to Lewis and Helen (Wood) McCoy. She married Rolland "Terry" Lyon on March 30, 1970, in Rock Island. Marilyn spent a lot of time out on her bicycle and enjoyed riding the many bike trails. She loved being outdoors and taking in all the nature around her home. Marilyn especially enjoyed flowers and made sure she always had some at home to attract all the wildlife. Marilyn was an avid quilter. Recently, Marilyn was very invested in exploring different lighthouses and their history. She also enjoyed visiting various historic sites with her husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Terry; sons, Kiley (Karen) Lyon and Wesley Lyon; sister, Ruth Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and several siblings.
