Mario J. Leone, 77, of Davenport, formerly Rock Island, passed away Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island.

Mario was born February 9, 1947, in Sicily, Italy, a son of Samuele and Lucia (Blanda) Leone. He graduated from Alleman High School in 1966, where he played football. Mario married Patricia A. Louck on May 7, 1977. He worked at John Deere for 31 years and retired in 1996. Mario was an avid golfer and loved spending time at the golf course. He was also a fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Those left to cherish Mario's memory include his wife of 47 years, Pat; children, Janean (Garry) DePaepe, Mario P. (Emilene) Leone, and Marco Leone; grandchildren, Dalton DePaepe, AJ Clay, Dax Leone, Quinn Leone, Heath Leone, Lucca Leone, and Roman Leone; siblings, Salvatore (Mary Ann) Leone, Frank (Janet) Leone, Dino Leone, and Art (Kelly) Leone; and sister-in-law, Salvatrice Leone.

Mario was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Giuseppe Leone; and sisters, Josephine and Anna Leone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chad Unterscheidt Memorial Golf Tournament in Mario's memory.
